About the Scholarship
The University of Helsinki Master’s Scholarship program provides tuition fee waivers for international students from outside the EU/EEA. Scholarships can cover 50% or 100% of tuition fees depending on academic performance and motivation. Scholarships are valid for up to two years, provided that students complete 55 ECTS credits in the first academic year to maintain eligibility for the second year
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be from outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland and liable for tuition fees. Candidates must meet the admission requirements for one of the University of Helsinki’s master’s programs, demonstrate strong academic performance, meet Finnish visa and residence permit requirements, and commit to full-time studies

Application Deadline
The application period for master’s programs starting in autumn 2026 is from 2 to 16 January 2026. Applications for both admission and scholarships must be submitted during this period. A €100 application fee applies to applicants from outside the EU/EEA unless exempt
