Pursue Your Postgraduate Dreams in Brazil with the PEC-PG Scholarship 2026

The PEC-PG scholarship supports three study pathways: a full Master’s degree lasting up to 24 months, a full Doctorate lasting up to 48 months, and a Sandwich PhD option offering six to ten months of advanced research in Brazil. Fields of study are open across a wide spectrum of disciplines at recognized Brazilian Higher Education Institutions, ensuring that scholars can align their academic goals with Brazil’s world-class expertise.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold citizenship from developing countries that maintain bilateral education cooperation agreements with Brazil, particularly from Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree to apply for a Master’s program or a Master’s degree to apply for a PhD. Proficiency in Portuguese is required since all instruction is in Portuguese, and applicants must have formal acceptance from a Brazilian Higher Education Institution. Individuals engaged in research with military applications are not eligible.

Benefits

Selected scholars receive a monthly stipend to cover living expenses, health insurance assistance, and international airfare provided by Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition, fellows benefit from full academic support during their studies and access to Brazil’s diverse higher education and research networks.
