Program Highlights
This selective fellowship spans one year, housed within Schwarzman College at Tsinghua. It welcomes around 150 to 200 scholars globally, preparing them to become influential leaders with deep awareness of global trends and China’s role in shaping them.


Comprehensive Funding Package

Schwarzman Scholars receive full coverage for tuition and fees, room and board, and round-trip airfare to and from Beijing. The package also includes guided in-country study tours, books and course materials, a laptop, health insurance, and a personal stipend—often presented as a lump sum—to support living expenses and arrival adjustment. Visa application support is also provided.

Key Dates and Timeline

For applicants from outside Greater China: the global application window opens on April 10, 2025, and closes on September 10, 2025 (at 3 PM EDT). Shortlisted candidates may be invited to interviews between October and November 2025, with the program commencing in August 2026. Applicants holding passports from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan follow an earlier schedule, with a deadline in May 2025 and selection by mid-2025.

Who Should Apply

The program seeks candidates who demonstrate top-tier academic performance, leadership potential, ethical integrity, intercultural empathy, intellectual curiosity, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Applicants must hold—or be on track to complete—a bachelor’s degree before August 1, 2026, and be between 18 and 28 years old by that same date. All academic disciplines are welcome.

The application is rigorous and offers no space for extra materials beyond what’s requested.
